The next generation Gas & LPG sampling system Analyzing gas and liquefied gas is often seen as problematic. The chosen sampling technique and the ability to handle different kinds of gases at different pressures and physical appearances is challenging to say the least. TE Instruments has developed the GLS, suitable of handling all sorts of gases and LPG’s for the analysis of Total Chlorine, Nitrogen and Sulfur. It is perfectly suited to use together with the TE Instruments XPLORER combustion system, but also does an excellent job as a stand alone gas sampler with other combustion analyzers. |

Safe, reliable and robust | |||||
In most cases gas is highly flammable and might pose a risk in the laboratory. To ensure the safest possible way of handling, the GLS is equipped with a sensor which constantly measures the composition of the air inside the sampler. When hydrocarbons are detected, the sampler assumes there is a possible dangerous situation and aborts all activity. The display on the GLS and the XPLORER monitor indicate that a situation has occurred and various safety measures are taken. The introduction of sampling gas into the XPLORER system and the carrier gas flow are stopped. At the same time the cabinet of the sampling system is purged with the inert carrier gas. After inspection and correction, the reset button on the touch screen can be pressed in order to resume activity. The standard GLS safety mechanism prevents unintended removal of the sample bottle. |
